PEOPLE

The ENCN Preceptorship Program is committed to providing an atmosphere in which each upcoming psychiatric nurse practitioner has the training that facilitates them to each make a profound and positive impact on those they serve in the mental health community.

Anthony, PMHNP-BC

It was great to have the flexibility with adjusting my schedule while having the ability to work remotely as needed as well. I was able to learn how to do complete assessments through this preceptorship. Aside from the important teachings necessary to become great practitioners. My favorite memory was our down time feeling like a family. Sarah, keep up what you are doing! You are an amazing inspiration and I aspire to be as successful as you in the future!

Keumhee, PMHNP-BC

I would rate the success of the preceptorship a 10/10 because of the hands-on experience and all the other experiences this program had to offer. The clinical and medication knowledge from Sarah Ko, PMHNP was excellent! I have lots of great memories with her, such as the fun lunch times we had with the other PMHNP students. Sarah Ko is the example of the best preceptor for PMHNP students, because she is passionate about her job; she knows exactly what students need to learn and kindly explains everything to us in a comprehensible way.

James, PMHNP-BC

My experience precepting with Sarah Ko was amazing. I was able to finish all my hours due to her wide range of practices consisting of both inpatient and outpatient. She was extremely informative and educational when it came to her treatment modalities and pscyhotropic prescriptions. Sarah also gave us many opportunities to treat her patients and gain our ownconfidence; she respected my goal to be an autonomous practitioner and only intervened when necessary. All in all, I learned a lot precepting with Sarah and would recommend her to anyone looking for preceptorship.

Gina, PMHNP-BC

I can't thank you enough for the amazing learning experience you have provided me with. You are a talented nurse practitioner and wonderful mentor and friend. I hope to stay in touch as I enter the PMHNP profession. Cheers!

Moses, PMHNP-BC

Sarah is an amazing preceptor! I followed her for two semesters and I learned a lot new things from her. Before my clinical psych rotation, I had questions about some of the psych medications, but Sarah was able to answer all the questions right away. I highly recommend any new NP students to work/learn from her!

Nnamdi, PMHNP-BC

Sarah is an exceptional mentor and a leader. During my psych clinical rotations, I had the privilege to acquire a lot of new knowledge. She would sometimes give me homework to supplement my clinical learning. She would also provide guidance on how to complete every task to help me learn the most from them. I would highly recommend her!

Phillip, PMHNP-BC

Your name resonates in my mind all the time. Thank you so much for all that you did for me. I always provide your information to students who are seeking a PMHNP preceptor. I explain to them that the fee for service is worth it to graduate having ensured proper learning through a preceptor who is fully willing to teach & assist her students. I look forward to taking my certification soon, and I owe it all to you. You are the best!!!

Sarah was an unbelieveable source of information for us during my advanced practice clinicals. She was very thorough and precise with patient assessments, charting and medication education. She was readily available if I had any questions and always took the time to really explain (in detail) the answers to all my inquiries. I am so thankful for all the knowledge I gained with her as my preceptor during my clinical rotations. I highly recommend her preceptor services!

Karen, PMHNP-BC

A preceptor should provide education and support, encourage critical thinking, and help students adjust ot the needs of the work environment. Without question, Sarah did all that for me. Her knowledge about medication management, diagnoses, and best practices made it possible for me to get the most out of my clinical rotations. Sarah allowed me to shadow her on inpatient units as well as outpatient settings. Sarah has sincere concerns and respect for others - patient, family members, and co-workers alike. She communicates and interacts emphatically with everyone. Sarah is always positive and confident in her ability to find the right treatment for every patient she works with. Without questions, she possesses qualities that I hope to aquire in my career as a PMHNP. Even though she has a very busy work schedule, she still finds time for good causes outside of work. I appreciate everything Sarah has done for me very much. Not only did she encourage professional growth but also personal growth. Thank you, Sarah.

Simone, PMHNP-BC

Mrs. Ko was my first PMHNP preceptor, and I was lucky to have her. She encouraged and inspired me to develop a firm foundation in diagnosing, prescribing, and treating psychiatric patients through careful observation of her interactions with them first. Then, she gave me the opportunity to interact with patients under her supervision, all the while taking into consideration my comfort level and skill set of interacting with patients.

Ben Trousdale, PMHNP-BC

Thank you for being my mother in psychiatry. Thank you for sharing your expertise and for being so patient and supportive. I truly enjoyed working with you and the other students. I hope that we will stay in touch and hopefully collaborate one day! Thank you, Ben Trousdale
