Sarah Ko, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, has a passion for training future psychiatric nurse practitioners and strives to equip them with compassionate care toward those living with mental disorders. She believes that every person is unique and that they may bring different cultural experiences, values, beliefs, and attitudes toward mental health treatments. Sarah’s clinical philosophy is to “treat the patient, not the psychiatric disorder.” She has volunteered at various community outreach programs and runs a Meditation Camp for Children. She has been thoroughly educated in suicide prevention with a focus on a high-risk cultural group (Korean-lay individuals) and received Competency-Based Training for Suicide Prevention from the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA). She is currently CEO of Together Mental Health Clinic in Los Angeles operated by Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in collaboration with Psychiatrists, which provides comprehensive and compassionate psychiatric services and consultations within the greater Los Angeles area.
